[News] Kim Hyun Joong donates profits from his Japanese concert to an orphanage [07.02.2012]
Singer Kim Hyun Joong held a live concert at the Yokohama Arena on February 5th to celebrate his Japanese debut.
At the concert hall, Kim Hyun Joong faced the 20,000+ audience members and remarked, “My Japanese debut song, “Lucky Guy“, has sold over 100,000 copies in the first week after its release. Thank you guys for showing me so much support, even though I’m just a rookie here.”
“It’s unfortunate that I wasn’t able to meet all 60,000 fans who applied to be here tonight, but I will make sure to have a good time with all 20,000 of you,” he said with a laugh.
Kim Hyun Joong also donated the profits from the concert to an orphanage in Japan. “I hope that it will be able to offer some help,” he said. “And if any of you are able to do so, please do what you can to help the children.”
The singer performed 13 songs in total, such as “Lucky Guy“, “Let Me Go“, “Breakdown“, and “One More Time“.
Kim Hyun Joong released his debut Japanese album on January 25th, which quickly climbed to #3 on the Oricon charts as well as setting a new record for most number of sales by an overseas artist.

[News] Kim Hyun Joong Brings in Even More Fans in Japan [06.02.2012]
Kim Hyun Joong’s debut in Japan is taking his popularity in the country even higher.
Kim met with 20,000 of his fans in his Premium Live 2012 concert on February 5 in the Yokohama Arena. The concert came just 12 days after his debut album was released on January 25.
In the concert, Kim performed many of his hits including Kiss Kiss, Lucky Guyand Breakdown, and sat down with his fans to talk about his experiences in Japan.
Thousands of fans lined up in front of the Arena waiting for its doors to open five hours before the event was due to start, and some fans who weren’t able to get tickets appeared with pickets in the hope that they could get last-minute tickets.
Many prominent Japanese media outlets such as Fuji TV, Nihon TV, TV Asahi,Nikkan Sports and Sankei Sports rushed to cover the fans gathered in front of Yokohama Arena to see Kim, and showed their interest in the power of his popularity.
Kim made a successful solo debut in Korea with his first and second solo mini albums and his digital single album, and his success continued with his solo debut in Japan. His debut album ranked in the top 3 of the Oricon chart with its release on January 25 and blew through 100,000 sales in its first week.
Kim Hyun Joong plans to release his follow-up single Lucky Guy on February 6.

According to news sources, Jaejoong attended a youth forum in Ankara University, along with Korean president Lee Myung Bak, and he will also be attending a state banquet at the presidential palace.
He is traveling not just as a Kpop artist (he already had a fan meeting with JYJ Turkey fans) but, also as a representative of South Korea. Which is fitting, considering Jaejoong along with the other JYJ members are International Ambassadors (ICAAP, UNAIDS, World-OKTA), and also National Representative for Korea (Nuclear security Summit, KEPCO, FLL Korea, and PR Ambassador for The South Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology/MEST).
For those who were wondering why security around him was so tight. This might be because he is also a State Guest.

JYJ member Jaejoong (26) wrapped up a successful fan meet in Turkey.
On February 6th, his agency C-JeS Entertainment stated that he completed his Turkish fan meet that was held at Ankara University in front of 600 local fans.
Jaejoong remarked, “This is my first time in Turkey, and I am so grateful that my fans are so welcoming. I feel right at home.”
“It’s true that I came to Turkey to meet with my fans, but because I was invited by the Korean Embassy in Ankara, I will do my best to further spread awareness of our Korean culture,” he said. “Next time, I would like to come with my JYJ members to hold a concert here.”
According to his agency, his local fans welcomed him with open arms, holding red balloons and singing along with JYJ songs.
They also revealed a video they put together just for him, and held a surprise birthday party for the singer who had a birthday last month, singing “Happy Birthday” in Korean.
In response to their efforts, Jaejoong sang “I’ll Protect You“, the soundtrack from his drama series ‘Protect the Boss‘.
Tickets for the fan meeting were sold at a first come, first served basis and tickets for all 600 seats sold out on the Korean Embassy in Ankara website within half an hour.
Jaejoong will also be attending a meeting with the young people of Turkey at the Ankara University along with Korean president Lee Myung Bak who is also in the local area.
He will also be attending a state banquet held at the presidential palace the same night.

[NEWS] 120206 Kim Jaejoong Surprised by Turkish Fan
Earlier we reported that JYJ member Kim Jaejoong headed to Turkey for an individual fan meeting. A photo from the fan meeting has now been published, in which Kim Jaejoong and a Turkish fan are seen bowing to each other.
On February 5th, Kim Jaejoong held a fan meeting at an auditorium in Ankara University in Turkey, when he was pleasantly surprised by an event involving a fan. A fan appeared on stage and, as a token of thanks to Jaejoong, made a deep bow. Following suit, Jaejoong then also bowed to his fan. At that time, the fans in attendance took photos and videos, and by their word of mouth, the media went viral on their country’s internet portal site message boards. Although Jaejoong appears on the one hand to be a bit flustered and embarrassed, fans commented that on the other hand he dealt with the situation rather cutely.
This fan meeting with Jaejoong was an invitation for Korean culture into Turkey. In 2005, after airing Korean dramas on the state-operated TV in Turkey, fan clubs of ‘Korea fans’ were formed, and a fan base of around 40,000 continues to grow wildly. Jaejoong wished to show his gratitude towards fans of the hallyu wave through this fan meeting event.
Prior to his Turkey fan meeting, Jaejoong had written a post on his Twitter,
“Turkish people definitely have a lot of similarities to Korean people.. It is certainly a great place~ Looking forward to the days ahead~”

Thank you for all of the support.”

Kim Jaejoong was invited by the Korea Cultural Center in Turkey to open a fan meeting in a hall at Ankara University on Sunday, Feb. 5. After a state-owned television channel broadcasted Korean dramas in Turkey, Hallyu wave began. ‘Korea Fans’ is the most representative fanclub in Turkey and has more than 40,000 actively participating fans at present. The Korea Cultural Center in Turkey has secured an invitation to JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong who has the most number of Turkish fans and it hopes to spread Hallyu wave and increase the number of cultural exchanges between the two countries through the fan meeting.
All 600 fan meeting tickets were sold out in 30 mins after the Korea Cultural Center made an announcement that they would be distributed on first-come first-served basis. In a few hours, more than 2,000 requests were received, confirming the power of Hallyu wave in Turkey. Calls from fans who could not get the tickets swamped the Korea Cultural Centre and the Korean Embassy. Turkish fans hope that the fan meeting will cause the opening of more events and performances from entertainers. Meanwhile, on Feb. 1, Miliyet, a Turkish daily newspaper introduced JYJ and provided details on Kim Jaejoong’s fan meeting.
