[News] Kim Hyun Joong Currently Holds Highest Record Sales Among Solo Artists in 2011

Kim Hyun Joong currently holds the highest sales record among solo artists this year.
On the online Hanteo Charts, which are considered to be one of the most accurate charts in Korea, the rankings for highest record sales from January 1 to November 7 were announced.
Although Kim Hyun Joong is part of an idol group, he released two solo albums and has sold a total of over 200,000 copies. He currently stands at number one at the solo artist category and at third place overall.
He sold around 110,000 copies of his mini album, "Break Down," which was released this past June. His second mini album, "Lucky," sold about 100,000 copies in just three weeks.
The combination of Kim Hyun Joong's two mini album record sales exceeded many idol groups such as Super Junior and Big Bang. He is the first solo artist to do so this year.
If record sales from Japan are included, the total number would exceed 200,000 by a large amount. Furthermore, the numbers are expected to continue increasing when he starts his Japan tour and the 2012 Asia Tour.
Kim Hyun Joong will start touring Japan in eight different cities in the middle of November.

[News] Kim Hyun Joong to release Japanese solo album through Universal Music Japan

Kim Hyun Joong recently held a press conference revealing that he has signed with Universal Music Japan, and announced the expected release date of his first Japanese solo album.


The star had his first showcase in Japan on November 7th, and has been receiving numerous “love calls” from big record labels since then. Out of all the offers he received, Kim Hyun Joong decided to go with Universal Music, the label that houses Korean artists like SNSD, KARA, B2ST, 4minute, and Supernova.
Universal Music stated, “His powerful performance during his showcase in July left an impression. Kim Hyun Joong has a unique charm that is hard to find in other Korean idol groups that are currently promoting in Japan, so we’re sure his solo activities in Japan will be successful.”


Kim Hyun Joong will be touring around 8 more cities after his first concert in Osaka on the 9th, and will release his first Japanese solo album on January 25th of next year.

[News][10.11.11] Kim Hyun Joong signs a contract with Japanese Universal Music

Kim Hyun Joong recently signed a contract with Japanese Universal Music.

Kim successfully held a showcase in July in Japan and lots of Japanese music companies wanted to make a contract with him. Kim decided to work with Universal Music and the company will support Kim to promote his songs and go on a tour in Japan.

Universal Music has introduced many K-pop groups, including, SNSD, KARA, B2ST, 4minute, and Choshinsung to Japan. They also produce albums and promote them to be successful in Japan.

Universal Music says, “We were impressed by Kim’s powerful performance that he gave at his showcase in July. We are sure that Kim will be successful in Japan.”

Kim will start touring on the 9th through eight Japanese cities (Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo,Sendai, Hiroshima, Yokohama, Nagoya, Fukuoka).

[News][10.11.11] SS501′s Kim Hyung Jun to release his first solo DVD

SS501‘s Kim Hyung Jun will be releasing his first solo DVD.

Agency S-Plus Entertainment stated, “The DVD will contain footage from Kim Hyung Jun’s performances in Japan, including his concert on November 10th.” The singer decided to release the DVD after receiving constant requests by fans.

The DVD will also contain the remixed version of “My Girl” as well as his new single, “Sleepless Night“. Fans will find a life-sized poster and other gifts with the DVD.

In related news, Kim Hyung Jun will be holding a fan signing event on November 13th inKorea.

[Info] “Seoul Tokyo Music Festival 2011″ to be aired via TBS Japan this January

The “Seoul Tokyo Music Festival 2011″ successfully wrapped up its concert in Tokyo, Japan earlier today. The event gathered South Korea’s leading Korean idol groups as they held the concert in Japan’s Saitama Arena on the 9th of November.

The event which was hosted by KARA’s Gyuri and Hara, FT Island’s Hongki and Big Bang’s Seungri, boasted a full line-up which included, KARA, 2NE1, SS501′s Heo Youngsaeng and Kim Kyujong, MBLAQ, Brown Eyed Girls, Rainbow, ZE:A, Infinite, Teen Top, Dal Shabet and A Pink. FT Island along with Big Bang’s Seungri were also confirmed on a later date.

Meanwhile, the full concert is set to be aired by TBS Japan on January 14th, 2012between 9 and 11 PM. The TV channel officially announced the schedule on their official homepage today, right after the concert had finished.

SBS, who also aired the show last year, still hasn’t released an official airing date for the concert. Stay tuned for more updates!

Q: You made your comeback with ‘Lucky Guy’ after some time. What’s the new concept in your new album this time?
A: I wanted to express something more dandy and gutty image in this album this time. So, a strong smoky eyes makeup was emphasized on the eyes. In conjunction to the rhythmical beat and funky rock in the title track ‘Lucky Guy’, the song itself together with the matching light color baby-permed hair, exudes a cheerful aura.

Q: You’re known as the ‘Milky-Strong Man’ for your immaculate skin. How do you manage it?
A: To ensure that there is no problem with the skin, try to avoid putting thick make ups.

Q: What about cleansing?
A: I washed my face thoroughly to ensure there’s no any makeup leftovers. I’ve heard that a clean face is more important than having makeups on the face. (laughs)

Q: Due to the busy schedule, how did you manage your skin?
A: No matter how much stress I’m getting, what’s more important is to keep a positive mindset aside from maintaining a good eating habit, sleep well as well as exercising. The stress received will be marked on our faces if we are tired. There’s a wide range of beauty products, and you can just choose either one from the many.

Q: Just right before a shooting, how do you deal with the troubles that came up?
A: I don’t need to wear any glasses even if I’m having any skin troubles. Because my stylist will cover it up perfectly with makeups. (laughs) After the shooting ends, only then I’ll sooth my skin by using skin patch.

Q: During an important filming, which part do you feel it’s more important?
A: It’s always have been important to show the best impression. Although the outlook is one of the important point to note in my career, but it’s more important to show my passion on the stage so I can have a enjoyable stage performance together with the fans.

Q: What are your the beauty secrets?
A: Drink lots of water usually. And wash my face thoroughly. During the weekends, definitely will put on the mask pack at least two times to ensure full skin nourishment.
