KARA will be a model for ‘Drinking Hongcho’ in Japan from August. In July, after KARA made a contract, sales have increased 10 times for last month.

The company, Chungjungwon’s official said, “Unlike Japanese Idol Groups’ girlish image, KARA is know for their hip dance, so they can deliver the key words, ‘skin’ and ‘keeping in shape’, for Hongcho. We are targeting Japanese women in their early 20s and 30s and they will reach consensus on KARA.

The company also said, besides the TV commercial, they will have a variety promotions for Hongcho, including an event with KARA’s concert and signing event.

Through KARA, Chungjungwon is anticipating to increase the sales and raise their brand awareness in Japan.

Meanwhile, KARA will make their comeback in Korea this fall.

JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong’s Chinese fans send 100 meals to the drama set!

On July 30, Kim Jae Joong’s Chinese fans sent 100 meals to the set of SBS’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama, Look Out for the Boss in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. The meals were for the crew and the market value of the meals is about 4 million won.
Among those meals, there were vegetable salads and sandwiches rapped with notes, saying, ‘go with you, never stop.’

Chinese President of the fan club, Wang Ruo Ran passed the food to each one of the crew and said, “Take care of Jae Joong.” The crew also said, “Thank you. We will enjoy the meal.”
A official thanked and said, “When we were shooting the drama at Lotte World before, we were surprised because there were so many fans from all over the world. And today, they even came to Paju with the meals. That proves Kim Jae Joong is very popular.”
The drama, Look Out for the Boss‘s first episode will be aired on August 3.

Super Junior will appear on SBS’s Strong Heart before their comeback.

On the 1st, the producer of the show said, “10 members of Super Junior will appear on Strong Heart. Super Junior’s Lee Teuk, Eun Hyuk and Shin Dong are regular panel members of the show, so other members will feel comfortable.”

The show will be recorded on the 4th and the exact air date has not been set yet.

Lee Hyo Ri went to India to do volunteer work.

On August 1, SBS’s show, Bae Gi Wan and Choi Young Ah’s Good Morning, aired Lee Hyo Ri’s volunteer work in India.

Lee Hyo Ri went to Mumbai, India, which 500 thousands poor people live. Lee Hyo Ri met Ppooja, who has been supported from Lee Hyo Ri, and took care of her like her real sister.

Lee Hyo Ri said, “I want Ppooja to study hard and become a great doctor. Then she can cure her grandmother’s disease and take care of her younger brothers and sisters.”

On the show, Lee Hyo Ri provide food for 3,500 students and expressed her warmth. Lee Hyo Ri is supporting 20 children from all over the world.

After her volunteer work, Lee Hyo Ri said, ”After meeting the children in person, I thought I should support them until they grow up and take care of themselves. Giving them love helps them to be upright person, not the money,” she said.

Moon Geun Young meets her fans after two years!

Moon Geun Young held her 3rd Fan Meeting and met her fans after two and half years at the Art Hall, in Yongdeungpo, Seoul on July 30.

‘Gift’ was the main theme of the event and over 500 fans attended the 3 hour long event. Moon Geun Young, who is well known for her affection towards her fans, worked hard for the event.

After showing the opening video, Moon Geun Young surprised her fans by singing a sweet song called ‘You and I’. She took time to chat with fans, where they asked questions and she answered them honestly. For the speed quiz, Moon Geun Young answered questions,showed off SNSD’s dance steps and did animal imitations.

When Moon Geun Young met her fans 2 years ago, she gave an outrageous performance with an upgraded girl’s hip hop and sexy dance. Moon Geun Young also gave homemade cookies and signed posters for over 500 fans.

Moon Geun Young chose, bought and wrapped the presents for her fans. She even hand wrote cards for the fans joining her onstage.

Meanwhile, to celebrate Moon Geun Young, many celebrities visited the Fan Meeting, including 2PM, Jang Geun Suk, Shin Se Kyung, Moon Chae Won, Lee Yoon Ji, and more. Jang Geun Suk described Moon Geun Young as an iron scrubber, because she makes everything clean through her strong and bold personality. Taek Yeoun made a joke, saying Moon Geun Young is his first love from the drama, Cinderella’s sister. Actor Ryu Deok Hwan showed his respect to Moon Geun Young and said, she is second to none.

At the end of the event, Moon Geun Young showed her appreciation, saying, “I really appreciate my fans and I’m always thankful. I want to express my feelings. Thank you and I love you.”

Moon Geun Young sang a song and played guitar at the end of the event. At that moment, the fans presented her with a surprise card, saying, ‘We will always make you smile’. Moon Geun Young was moved to tears while she was singing.

Chansung: We have seen it. The commercial looks very good and we are very proud.

Question: How was filming the commercial yesterday?
Junsu: It was very fun. We have to thank the work crew and Eversense very much. The filming environment was very fun the whole time. The background scene was beautiful and the plot was fun. We would like you to look forward to it.

Question: If you could create an Eversense cologne of any scent, what would you chose?
Nichkhun: That's a hard question.
Taec: There are so many fragrances, it's hard to choose. I like ice cream so I'd choose that.
Junho: I like the scent of peach.
Wooyoung: Banana, which 2pm likes to eat.
Nichkhun: I'd choose Mali (Jasmine, ragrance of our country. It should smell good.
Junsu: 2pm likes to drink thang mo pun (blended watermelon) so I'd like to have a watermelon scent.
Chansung: Since Nichkhun chose Mali, Thailand's flower, I'd like to choose Korea's flower, Mopoopa (Hibiscus syriacus?).

Question: In addition to the fanmeeting, Eversense and Thai Hottests are doing good merit by donating the money earned from auctioning off the clothes that 2PM wore for the commercial. How do you feel about that? (Note: They had raised 60,000 baht and donated to a charity to help prevent violence against women.)
Taec: We well very heartwarming to be involved with doing good merits with Thai Hottests. If there are more events like this in the future, we would like to participate.

Question: Right now 2PM is promoting their new album Hands Up. Please tell us more about that.
Junho: 2PM made a comeback after 8-9 months with this new album Hands Up. It's a song that is fun and lively and makes you feel like you're in a club, but it's a style that we've never done before. We feel good that many fans like it and in today's fanmeeting we will sing this song, and we want everyone to have fun with us.

Question: When are you going to have a full concert in Thailand? Thai Hottests are waiting for you to have a concert in Thailand.
Nichkhun: In September we’re having an 2PM Hands Up Asian Tour starting in Seoul. And then we’re going to other countries, and for sure to Bangkok too. Please look forward to it.

Question: Please say something to the Thai fans.

Ice Sarunyu (a famous Thai singer) opened the stage with his own songs and his senior’s songs before 2pm took the stage with “Heartbeat” and “I’ll Be Back” and had an interview on stage.

Question: How you feel about this fanmeeting?
Nichkhun: It is very heartwarming, it’s like coming home. At the airport, a lot of people came to welcome us. Thank you for loving us. With you guys so great like this, how can we not love our fans? There was also food that was brought for us. We ate it deliciously.

Question: When are you going to have a full concert in Thailand?
Taecyeon: On September 2 and 3, we’re having a concert starting in Seoul and we have plans to come to Thailand as well.

Question: We saw Junsu cooking on a show as well, how was that?
Junsu: It was the first time I cooked so I chose Ddokboki. In the future I’m going to be a Ddokboki seller.

Question: What if the fans asked you to cook?
Junsu: For sure! I will make Ddokboki for you to eat.

Question: On the show, Taecyeon couldn’t eat sour. What can you eat?
Taecyeon: I like sweet things.

Question: Wooyoung, it looks like on the internet you have a new little friend.
Wooyoung: It’s a chick. I met it during filming so I took a picture with it for fans to see.

Nichkhun: They use the donated money to help people so I helped to buy 300 bands and gave them to fans.

Question: In the new album, there is a song that Junsu composed himself.
Junsu: The song that I wrote has a fun feel to it. It conveys the feeling for a girlfriend that you love a lot. It’s my first work. (He sings a sample of the song)

Question: And Junho, you also composed a song.
Junho: This is my first time. It’s about secretly loving a girl and not having the courage to tell her. Everyone will love it for sure.

They played games with the lucky fans, which includes partnering up, a dance battle, and musical chairs along with a surprise birthday cake for a fan, which created many special memories. They closed with a strong show of 3 songs straight including I Can’t, 10 out of 10, and the last song their latest single Hands Up that everyone was ready to get their hands up and fill the entire hall with noise.

Nichkhun ended with “Thank you Eversense for arranging this event. We hope that we will have another opportunity like this in the future. We will be the best 2PM that we can be.”

Super Junior Comeback! All the Songs in the 5th Full Album will be Pre-Released at Midnight, August 2nd! Two Versions of ‘Mr. Simple’ Music Video Teaser to be Released Today!

Super Junior, who started the countdown for comeback, will release sound sources of 5th full album (including title song ‘Mr. Simple’) through music websites such as Melon, Dosirak, Naver etc. at midnight, August 2nd.

 

The 5th album title song, ‘Mr. Simple’ lightly expresses how modern people lose their achievement for their job, love and dream without breadth of mind in such a complicated world with humorous and metaphorical words. Super Junior is planning to present an intense and energetic performance which highlights uniquely well-organized group dance, so it is expected to capture the eyes and ears of music fans all over the world with the striking visual performances.

 

Also, ‘Good Friends(어느새 우린)’ which is composed by Jongshin Yoon, tells about Super Junior’s friendship, and the lyric creates perfect combination with emotional melody. Meanwhile, ‘Opera’ is a reverse beat dance track with witty lyric that talks about the present time of Super Junior who has grown as global star. JYJ’s Representative States, “KBS’s Explanation Did Not Answer Our Questions At All”

A representative of Prain, the company in charge of JYJ’s PR, made a statement regarding KBS’s explanation as to why JYJ’s appearance on a KBS program was cancelled.

This representative stated, “KBS’s explanation did not answer a single question that JYJ’s representatives made,” and “What JYJ’s representatives called for was the reason why JYJ’s appearance was suddenly cancelled.” He continued to add, “We believe that JYJ, who were already promoting the cause as honorary ambassadors, could have appeared on the program as planned, regardless of Girls’ Generation and f(x)’s appearances. Other honorary ambassadors who were promised an appearance performed as planned, so we do not know why only JYJ were given a notification of cancellation.“

JYJ were scheduled to appear on the KBS special program ‘Challenge! 7 Natural Wonders of the World, This is Jeju’ as honorary ambassadors to the island’s nomination but were given a notification of cancellation by KBS four days before the performance. To this, JYJ’s representatives stated in an official statement that, “We have reported this case to the Fair Trade Commission and will carry out a lawsuit against the obstructions made against JYJ’s independent activities.”

On the 28th, KBS stated in their viewers’ thread that, “We received a call of confirmation from Girls’ Generation and f(x), who were on our list of celebrities to cast in the performance, saying that they would be able to perform,” and “As Girls’ Generation and f(x) have already spread out globally, even to Europe, we decided that their appearance would be more effective in promoting Jeju, which is in the running to be one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World, to the world(broadcasting live to 72 countries through KBS World).”

The Prain representative stated, “We do not wish to cause a conflict with KBS because of this issue,” and “However, we will wait for the verdict from the Fair Trade Commission regarding this issue and we hope that such illogical events will not occur again in the future.”

2NE1's 'Ugly' making waves all over the world through social networking sites

2NE1 who have made their comeback with new song 'Ugly' and hold the record for having '5 continuous all-kills' is making news for creating hit music videos as well.

On 27 July, YG Entertainment broadcasted 2NE1's Ugly music video on their Youtube channel; within 3 days, the number of views exceeded 800,000. On 29 July, the figure was close to 1,000,000 views. In addition, the video is spreading like wildfire on portals, social networking sites, personal blogs, etc., and is creating quite a sensation.

The song is gaining attention because its sad lyrics which express the hurt that those who aren't pretty receive from people's judgements is set to an up-tempo rock melody.

In particular, the chorus, 'I think I'm ugly and nobody wants to love me. Just like her, I wanna be pretty' is fun, but at the same time is highly relatable to anyone who has ever fretted over his or her looks.

The music video captures the distinctive 2NE1 charm and adds on the unique lyrics of the song to end on an extraordinary note. The vibrant colours and imaginary performance concept is definitely enough to capture the eyes and ears of viewers.
